Zero Waste Challenge #1

Hey babes! As you know, I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint, by learning more about the zero waste movement, and trying my best to change some things. But I've been a little bit overwhelmed with all of the information, and trying to accomplish too many things at once can be stressful and not productive at all. So I've decided to focus on three goals that I want to accomplish these next 2 months and then I can look back, see if I was able to do it and if I did it, I'll set myself 3 new goals! Here are my first 3 goals! 


Always bring my shopping and vegetable bags with me when grocery shopping
I bought some reusable nets and bags to use at the grocery store so I can buy fruit and vegetables in bulk, that way I don't have to use the plastic bags provided. I also have a lot of shopping bags laying around the house, but sometimes I still forget to bring them, and that's something I really want to work on! I'm going to keep some of these at the front door, some in my car, and at least one shopping bag and 2 nets in my handbag for emergency shopping!


Bring my own coffee tumbler 
Now that I'm back at school, in Antwerp, I crave Starbucks a lot more, they introduced their new paperless rewards app and it reminded me to use my reusable Starbucks tumbler, they really want people to say no to paper cups, they actually promote a more sustainable lifestyle on their website! You even get a discount when you bring your own cup! I can also use this cup at the coffee machine in my school.



Stop eating packaged meat, or go for vegetarian options 
I've been wanting to eat more vegetarian again now that I've figured out my wheat free diet more, at first I found it too difficult to also eat vegetarian, but now I'm getting the hang of things. A vegetarian or vegan diet has a much lower impact on the environment, it is definitely something to consider when making lifestyle choices. When I do still eat meat at home, I want to try and buy it package free at the local butcher.

  1. Wat een goede doelen! Die zakjes voor groente en fruit zijn eigenlijk zo simpel en lossen al veel op. Ga ik ook mee beginnen!

  2. Wat mooi dat je daar zo mee bezig bent! Ik moet daar ook veel actiever in zijn. Leef helaas niet altijd even milieubewust :(
